How to read QR codes

A QR code (Quick Response code) is a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) which was first designed for the automotive industry. However recently, the system has become very popular outside of the industry due to its fast readability and comparatively large storage capacity. The QR code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be made up of any kind of data (e.g., binary, alphanumeric, or Kanji symbols).

All you need is a mobile phone and a program/software that can scan QR codes. For most of the mobiles you only need to start the app and point the camera at a QR barcode, and within a very short time the screen will show its content.
